Immigration To Canada Requirements
Q: I have just finished my degree in Nursing and I would like to apply as an immigrant in Canada. I also have a brother who is a permanent Canadian resident. Which is the best route for me to take? Should I apply as a skilled worker? Or can my brother sponsor me?
A: In your situation, there are two ways by which you can immigrate to Canada. But, both ways do not give a guarantee. If you’re planning to apply as a skilled worker, you will need to have at least one year of experience in your field (as a nurse) for you to qualify – and that seems unlikely considering the fact that you have just finished your degree. When it comes to sponsorship by your brother, there are certain limitations when it comes to sponsoring siblings. For one, the sibling to be sponsored (you) should be 18 years of age or below – which is, again, unlikely in your case, considering that you have already finished your degree. You can check other requirements for sibling sponsorship to determine whether you will qualify or not.
Sponsor Spouse To Canada
Q: I have a Canadian husband, and both of us are living in the Philippines. My husband already wants to sponsor me to be a Canadian citizen, but he doesn’t want to go to Canada and leave me here in order to file the application. Can he file the sponsorship application while he is here in the Philippines? Or, can I go with him to Canada? Is it possible for me to be sponsored to Canada while I am already inside the country?
A: First and foremost, yes – it’s possible for your husband to sponsor you even if he is outside of Canada. The other option, both of you coming to Canada for the sponsorship, is also possible as long as you have a visitor visa. Remember, though, that the sponsorship process will take longer if the one being sponsored is already inside the country, around double the length of time compared to the process involved when sponsoring someone who is outside of Canada.

Quick question, I’m applying to sponsor my spouse who is outside canada. I started my own business in May 2007 and have not made much money yet. In the application it says “in order to qualify and sponsor my wife i need to reach de necessary income amount” and my question is HOW MUCH IS THAT AMOUNT ? how can I calculate. Also would owning 2 homes could help me show I have properties and can sell in case I don’t make money to survive? Seven years ago my family (mother, brother and me) moved to Canada. My mother claimed refugee protection and was denied, then two years later my mother met a wonderful man at work and got married. He tried to sponsor (as a spouse) her but was refused. I am a Canadian citizen, but my husband is Pakistani. I applied for his immigration in march 2010 and in june 2010 I recieved a letter saying that the file has been transferred to Pakistan. However since then I have heard no news. I don’t understand why is it taking so long. Hi, I been reading some of people’s cases that their spouses have gotten AOP from their sponsorpshis, but my husband has not yet gotten his acknowlegde letter yet i have gotten one from Canada sayin my case has been approved and is send to Pakistan. But my husband has not yet gotten AOP letter telling him about his case. And it has been 5 months now since i have started his case.
