Chile will be enjoying the benefits of being the first Latin American country to have a no-visa requirement for its citizens when entering Canada.
Heraldo Muñoz, Chilean Minister of Foreign Affairs, recently announced that Chileans can now enter Canada as a visitor or while in transit to another country with only a passport in hand.
The previous requirement to apply for a Temporary Resident Visa has already been lifted.
This decision by the Canadian government was arrived at after a thorough evaluation, which resulted in the findings that Chile meets all the requirements that Canada has in place for a no-visa entry to the country.
Visitors can stay in Canada for as long as 6 months.
